Hot Buy: Olivia Accessories

We are currently in love with Olivia Accessories Gold with Black Bead Necklace (£10).

It has a very Art Deco look to it, and fits in perfectly with the upcoming anticipated release of The Great Gatsby and its stunning costumes by Miuccia Prada.

We adore this Olivia Accessories necklace here at the magazine as it looks a lot more expensive than just £10, and has a good weight to it. The detail is cute also- the black beads spin in their gold rings. Plus, you can wear it to work, or to a party at night.

The Best Shapewear

Tweet this article

Shapewear is a God-send. We all look better in a dress or jeans with some figure sucking-in and re-arranging shapewear, and we're sharing our favourites with you...
Shapewear

JML Belvia Shapewear Bodysuit, £19.99, JML Direct
This is the perfect shapewear for making it seem you aren't wearing any body support at all. The ability to wear your own bra unobscured means you can have dresses with low necklines, and it also avoids any unsightly bulges at your back or under your arms which some shapewear causes when it goes all the way up to cover your chest. The pant-line also avoids any thigh bulges that some suits with shorts cause; so you can have your skirts as short as you want them, knowing that your bottom is nicely sucked in.

Fit Britches Skinny Shorts, £49.99, Fit Britches
These are the wonder shorts that do a lot more than just smooth out lumps and bumps to the naked eye. They are clinically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite, improve skin elasticity and drop inches if you wear these for 8 hours per day for 60 days. How? I hear you ask.Well, the material itself uses intelligent technology in its fibres. They emit a small amount of heat when touching the skin, and as such, improves metabolism, blood flow and the lymphatic drainage system. Technology aside, we wore ours for the recommended two months, and whilst we didn't measure ourselves before or afterwards, our skin was a lot healthier, firmer and less bumpy. You feel good when you are wearing them too; plus, the high waist that sits just under the bra line, stops any bulges from just spilling out at your stomach. They also don't roll down which is a bug-bear with many a shapewear garment.

Last night was the Golden Globes, and we loved watching some amazing dresses and beauty looks go along the red carpet.

Sienna Miller, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Mini Series for her role in The Girl, looks almost effortlessly beautiful in a floral Erdem skirt and top, natural make-up and simple slicked-back hair by hairdresser James Brown.

Sienna's hairdresser James Brown said "It's all about keeping the hair simple. I love the timeless elegance of the Hitchcock blondes, and have played down the look to keep it fresh and modern...it's classic Hollywood with a twist". He used his own Heat Protect Spray to prep her hair, and finished the style with his Effortless Hold Hairspray. You can buy these products from www.jamesbrownlondon.com.

We also loved Jessica Chastain in her mermaid-esque Calvin Klein halterneck gown.

Her red hair was styled  in a glamourous 50s Hollywood style by hairdresser Renato Campora using products from US brand Sultra Beauty (www.sultra.com), and her look was finished perfectly with L'Oreal's new Caresse Shine Stain in Berry Persistent.

S/S13 Hair Colour Trends

New season means new trends not just in fashion and beauty; but hair too. British hairdressing legend Errol Douglas' team, and British Hairdressing Awards Colour Technician of The Year Ken Picton, have been predicting Spring/Summer 2013's hair trends...

Ken Picton, in colour terms, predicts a move away from the obvious contrast between shades that highlights and dip-dyeing created; and a move towards a more subtle colour look. Ombre (a graduation of colour from dark to light or vice versa) tones will still be very popular; but the blending will be a lot more subtle. He also predicts there being a trend of the super-blond shades.

Subtle Ombre Copyright: House of Holland S/S13

Super Blonde Copyright: Giles Deacon S/S13
Colour-blocking is a major trend in fashion this Spring/Summer, and Picton predicts that this will continue into hair; with solid strong punchy colours.

Colour Blocking Copyright: Anna Sui S/S13
Jessica Speechly, Head of Colour at Errol Douglas, also predicts a more subtle way of having different colour tones in your hair. She says that "Hair Veiling was spotted on the S/S13 catwalks, and it's a great way to make a statement through colour. Veiling creates hidden panels of colour so that when the hair is flipped from one side to the other, it exposes contrasting colour. Instant edge that's also hidden easily".

So, it looks like a subtle mix of shades; or a solid block of eye-catching colour- what will you go for?
