S/S12 Nails

Nails are taking centre-stage this Summer. You can no longer get away with trying to hide your polish-free bitten talons from prying eyes.
Neon shades, like with fashion at the moment, as in. As are patterns and glitter! Don't feel all your nails have to be the same either- mix and match colours and designs for a unique and interesting look.

Here's our beginner's guide on what polishes to choose...
Nail Inc's Nail Jewellery range is supposed to resemble having precious jewels on your nails, and it does! The clear polish is crammed full of hand-cut particles that look like shards of diamonds. These very glittery and dazzling nail polishes work best when worn over other colours. Maybe you could go all out and mix with neon? We love the silver glitter in Burlington Arcade, and it's available for £11 from www.nailsinc.com.
Nail Rock nail wraps allow you to have gorgeous delicate patterns on your nails without all the hassle of painting it on. These nail 'stickers' are long-lasting and look like the real thing. The Tribal Gold designs look amazing, and the pack is available for £6.65 from www.nailrock.com.
Nars have some amazing neon nail polishes. Experiment by having a a different colour on each nail! If you aren't brave enough to go all out with the neon, try just having neon tips on your nails. That way they'll be tempered with a neutral shade on the body of the nail. Contrasting tips are also a major trend at the moment. Our favourite is the Thakoon Nail Polish in Amchoor that is exclusive to Liberty in the UK. It's £14 from www.liberty.co.uk, and is one of a collection of 5 colours from fashion designer Thakoon Pachnigul inspired by Indian spices.
Pretty Quick's Nail Polish Remover is a godsend when it comes to the quick, easy and mess-free removal of nail polish. You just pop your finger into the little pot and into the hole in the sponge inside; rub it about a bit and voila! No excuses for not varying your nail creations! Plus, it's acetone-free. It's available for just £2.50 from www.boots.com.

Cleo B Reigned Supreme At Lucky One Premiere

The star of the show at last week's UK premiere in London for Zac Efron's new film 'The Lucky One' was not one of the celebrities on the red carpet; but the shoes that 'Made In Chelsea' star Caggie Dunlop had on her feet.

The quirky creations fit perfectly into this season's neon trend and have gold cassette tape heels. Cleo B's Sucker MC range are a head-turner; but completely wearable. We have fallen in love!

Cleo Barbour is a young British footwear designer, and she is nominated this year for a Draper's Footwear & Accessory Award. We can't wait to see what she does next!

The Sucker MC heels are priced at £362, and will be available later this month at www.cleob.com. Race you to the checkout?

Love In The Air At 29 Glasgow

Love was in the air last week at 29 Glasgow (the city's luxurious private member's club) when style-conscious soon-to-be brides, seeking inspiration, descended on the venue for their Bridal Style Lab event.
Guests were treated to cocktails and goodie bags on arrival, before being able to mingle and sample some of the delights on offer from experienced wedding cake supplier Cup Couture (www.cupcouture.co.uk). Brides interested in more than just traditional shaped wedding cakes, could also try their speciality- cupcakes, and their cake pops. These make for great little treats for wedding guests; and Cup Couture's are delicious!
Whilst waiting on the catwalk show and presentations, the Style Lab attendees experienced delightful head, neck and shoulder massages from Clarins www.clarins.co.uk. Perfect for post-work relaxation!
Clarins had a variety of their make-up and skincare range along with them so that the prospective brides could learn about what would suit them for their big day, and discover various application tricks from respected Scottish make-up artist Craig Alexander Wilson (www.createthedream.co.uk).
After enjoying some of 29 Glasgow's canapes in the form of mini strawberry tarts and smoked salmon blinis, it was time for the fashion! 29 Glasgow's General Manager Michael introduced the proceedings and what 29 Glasgow could offer couples as a wedding venue.
Scot Michelle Mone's company Ultimo (www.ultimo.co.uk) talked to guests about underwear, and how this choice is just as important as their wedding dress itself.
Ultimo showed off their wide range of bridal lingerie and slim-wear; having something that would flatter and enhance all shapes and sizes on what will be one of the most important days of their lives.
